In May the SPICE Art Ball visited Macedonia. For the first country where the ball was exhibited in two cities in a row. In the Capital Skopje and in the historical city Ohrid. The presentation of the SPICE Art Ball included the first time display of the new triangle created by Kyrgyzstan. A leaflet describing the idea of the art ball was distributed at this event.

The International Conference for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Regional Development (EIRD) held in Skopje and Ohrid, Macedonia, May 8-11, 2008offered the opportunity for these presentations. At this event the 135th SPICE Meeting, hosted by Radmil Polenakovik was held discussing the two main topics "National Innovation Policies" and "Start-up Financing". More than 180 participants from 24 countries attended the EIRD Conference that was organized by the Business Start-Up Center of the University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" together with CITY College (affiliated institution of University of Sheffield) and the Computer Science Department, Thessaloniki, Greece. The EU Day of the Entrepreneur and the 4th meeting SENSI (South-East Network of Start-ups and Incubators) were held in co junction with the EIRD conference 2008. The objective of the Conference was to gather decision makers (government, ministries and state agencies), scientists (universities, research and development centers, start-up centers and incubators) and practitioners (SME's) in order to discuss topics that are of crucial importance for national competitiveness and increased regional development in the South East Europe.
