Artist: Jan Kummer

Jan Kummer born 1965 in Weimar, Germany worked 1981-1991at the TV, and in the Stadthalle Karl-Marx-Stadt. In evening lessons he studies painting, Graphics, and music at the University for Applied Art in Schneeberg. 1984-1992 he was member of the Künstlerkollektiv AG Geige and contributed to the graphics files "A3" and "Hase". He also published a number of records. Since 1995 he works as music events producer, moderator in radio programs, and entertainer. Since 1999 his activities in exhibitions increased and he began focussing on Hinterglasmalerei und Linolschnitt.

He showed his art work in numerous exhibitions, e.g. "Das heilige Jahr", Galerie Rosenkranz (1999), "In Sicht", Kunsprojekt, Chemnitz (2001), "Das Wunder von Borna", Galerie Borsenanger, Chemnitz Art Karlsruhe, One Man Show (2002).

Jan Kummer, as teenager was a fan of the artists group "New Slovenian Art NSK", especially he liked and was impressed by their musical component "Laibach" which he found inspiring. Today he is visiting Ljubljana, the hometown of NSK.
